Supporting Agriculture Education in Scotland

The Mains of Loirston Charitable Trust was set up by the late Alexander Williams Allan in 2007 with the primary purposes of supporting the education of School children or students and promoting research in the practice of agriculture or the science of agriculture in Scotland.

 

In 2016 the Trust set up an Innovation Fund intended for Farmers. Its objective is to encourage Innovative on-farm practical research which benefits Scottish agriculture.

About Grants

Grants can be be applied for a variety of purposes. The Trustees will then use their discretion to decide which grants to approve.

About the Innovation Fund

It all begins with an idea. Each year, the sum of £10,000 is earmarked for awards to applicants to this Fund. The awards are intended as financial support for the costs associated with the implementation of new ideas.  Find out about eligibility criteria and how to apply.
